PIXAR Lamp Robot build (Luxo Jr.) – PART 3: making the letters / lamp almost there

Hey guys! Welcome to Mech-Dickel Robotics! This is the part three on making the PIXAR Lamp Robot. Now, the lamp is mechanically completed, it just needs some sanding and painting and the electronics then will be ready to play. In this step I made the circle which works as a bracket for Pixy. I made it using the same method as the other parts with toner transfer over high impact polystyrene. This piece I cut from an LED lamp. Will have a few LEDs behind it and will look like a real lamp. This ring is where the front circle is attached. I also made the letters. Also need some sanding and off course the painting. I made it with a piece of MDF remaining from the furniture I made for the new studio. I cut with jig-saw. Now let’s go outside… there will be a lot of dust In the next episode I’ll paint and finish the lamp and letters and make the electronics. So, stay tuned to see this buddy alive. Thanks for watching!

  1. To cut triangular stuff with a saw, use two triangular bars, placed parallel to each other, so that the round piece being cut doesn't wiggle.
