DIY Halloween Outdoor FLOATING Ghosts

DIY Halloween Outdoor FLOATING Ghosts

Let’s name him Gary. Gary the ghost. Today we’re making ghosts out of fabric and
trash. Put his skirt down, that’s not appropriate.Sorry
Gary. We actually made 6 of these guys back in 2013
and they’re still in decent shape considering they’ve been out in the weather and in storage
for 4 years so there ya go. To do this project you’ll need fabric, so
we got this kind of gray sheer stuff and then cheap white fabric, about a yard or 2 of each. We used a wire hanger to hang it. A bunch of plastic bags. Black duct tape. And fishing line. And for tools, you’ll need pliers, metal snips,
and scissors. Do scissors count as a – scissors count as
a tool! They’re a very important tool! Grocery bags are gonna make up the bulk of
the- Yeah, that looks good. And then we duct tape around the whole thing. So the duct tape semi-waterproofs it. So I’m just like squeezing to see where the
air is coming from and then trying to seal those sections. So now that we have the head done, it’s time
to make the hanger. The actual hanger that we’re gonna hang it
from. Out of a hanger. We’re gonna use a hanger. So go ahead and use your tin snips. Start by bending it in half. Go down about a half inch, and bend out. And then do the same on the other side. And now you have a little loop. I want to add a little bend to the edges too. And then more duct tape! Yep, that looks good! Now we’re gonna cut a tiny hole in each of
our fabric pieces that our little hook can go through. Little hole! Do the white fabric first. Wait, and then eyes! We can do the eyes in a minute. Ok yeah. And then the gray fabric. I cut it so that the sheer fabric was a little
bit longer than the white fabric. Ahhhh! Ok, we’ll make eyes. The easiest way to make eyes and attach them
is to use a material that’s already black, that has adhesive on it. So we’re just gonna rip a piece off annnnnd-
How good are your circle cutting skills. Bad! Hahahaha! Oh man you’re gonna rip out some eyelashes. That was not smart. Alright, take two. I’m gonna try cutting a square. Alright, now that I have a rectangle. I know what I’m doing. This really shouldn’t be a difficult project. Hey that’s way better! Let’s compare the first- Ahhhhh. First and second one. I think we should use those, they have a story
now. So with the fabric in place, put the eyes
on. That looks nice! Now you, you hang him. Like killing him, you know? I know. Oh I thought it was funny hahaha. Oh gosh. Probably have the tall person doing this. That look good? Yeah. You just tie them up with fishing line, you
can’t really see it which is awesome. There you go. High five. I hope you enjoyed this little project, it’s
great for a last minute DIY or if you want something that’ll last 4 years, or more. Also if you’ve poked around our channel you’ll
notice that we tackle a wide range of projects, things that are harder like making furniture
and things like this that are super easy. So really nothing is off the table and if
you have any suggestions of something you’d like to see just let us know. Thanks, see ya next time, bye! Ahhhhh so scary ahhh! Ahhhh! Ahhh! Hahaha

  1. you guys obviously like Halloween as much as my wife, shame you guys live so far away we are having a huge party on Saturday night, if you find yourselves in England feel free to pop in for a blood cocktail.

  2. EEEEEEKKKKKK! or EK. Yes, I am typing that a 2nd time, because I waited to hit submit after it autoplayed to the next video. Grrrrrrr. I wonder sometimes how many times I'll let that happen before I turn off that awesome feature.

  3. My wife isn't big on Halloween, but she's a big fan of Harry Potter, so I convinced her to let me make something similar to this, but as a Dementor to hang from our tree. Not sure I'll get to it this year, but next year, it's on!

  4. I am such a fan of your stuff. Just the way it makes me smile every time. I will never make these ghosts but I absolutely enjoyed watching you guys do it.

  5. I don't want to sound demanding, but more Halloween decor would be great since I want to go all out on decorating my house this year. Thanks!

  6. Oh my! These are frighteningly simple and cute!!

You guys must've trained with the Astros, another home run! 😉

  7. Can you guys maybe (try to) make a longboard? I really want to make one, but every time I want to do it I say to myself it takes to much time. Since your stuff is always VERY easy to follow and make, I think you would be perfect 😀

  8. You guys should look into things you can do with dry ice for halloween decorations!

One halloween, my dad was able to get a large bag of dry ice for me to use at the door. I did a few things with it, but my favorite was this cauldron setup I had: we had this black thick plastic cauldron that was supposed to be a planter, so I filled it with water. I had a package of small flat pumpkins that we got at the store for a few dollars, and I cut out the tops of three of those and put some short white candles in the top (like in your candle holder video). I floated them in the cauldron, and then put a bit of dry ice in the cauldron before people came by to make it bubble and fog. It was a really cool prop.

  9. The intro was so scary. If you haven't already, you should listen to the Up and Vanished podcast. It's amazing!

  10. Adding some small, battery operated LEDs (like the ones that come inside of balloons) for the eyes would really make them pop at night.
Alternatively, adding a small glowstick under the white part on Halloween night would really move the spooky up a notch. 😉

  11. Shpoookey business. One thing I have been looking up to make is like phone docks or holders to put my phone in when I'm at my desk. Just an idea. Also we need to send Evan back to circle school haha

  12. I've made something similar but for indoors and using sheets from the thrift store. I really like the idea of using the sheer layer too, makes it look a lot more spooky at night 🙂

  13. You could try a dey ice spitter
Like a skeleton with a silent blower in it and dry ice infront of it.
The blower(fan) will blow the dry ice formed making a "mist"

  14. Wow they are soooo scary but easy to make. At the end of the video when you two were talking, the one behind Katelyn slowly turned around. Gave me the chills! 😀 Great project.

  15. “Hi five” ~ and then you slap him in the head! That mad me laugh. Great quick, make and really effective. Well done guys. X

  16. Suggestion: maybe add small LED strips onto the fabric so it can light up, but gives it a spooky jellyfish like effect. I think that would be super incredible, especially of a night time 😅

  17. Did y'all know we have 4 channels now? This main one, plus:

🎮 Evan and Katelyn Gaming youtube.com/evanandkatelyngaming

(us playing games and chatting, enhanced by epic editing and a heavy dose of memes)

🎙️ Evan and Katelyn Podcast youtube.com/evanandkatelynpodcast

(chatting about life, YouTube stuff, and playing games you can play along with)

😹 Evan and Katelyn Too youtube.com/evanandkatelyn2

(still figuring this one out 😂)

  18. This would be so cool with helium balloons. It would be so freaky seeing them float and sway from the tree.
