DIY DOLLAR TREE FARMHOUSE DECOR! SPRING ENTRYWAY TABLE DÉCOR! FEBRUARY 28 2019

hey everybody I’m Remington welcome to a
Dollar Tree do today I’m going to show you how to create this rustic glam decor
piece so I started with these three pieces then I removed the canvas part each piece has this hanging hardware on
the backside so slowly pull it out and save it for later right here the frame is split so just be
careful as you continue if this happens to yours next remove the sticker from
the inside and repeat these steps for the other two after that glue them together just like
I’m showing you here and on the backside I filled in the gaps
with hot glue I added three coats of spray paint and when it was dry I
started distressing the frame using medium grit sandpaper I lightly brushed
over the front and then I went heavy on the edges right here I’m showing you the
areas that I’m not distressing but if you decide to do this project go ahead
and distress those areas so I continue sanding going light in some areas
allowing the original color to peep through and then I went heavier in other
spots and for this particular piece I tried to create that slightly worn look
a little lighter than the project I shared with you on Tuesday next I use
two different Hart templates and traced it out on a piece of cardboard and after that I cut out each piece
initially I wanted different hearts but I ended up using three of the same next
I took some scrap paper three pieces I just eyeballed it and tore up some large
enough to cover the heart when bunched up but you can always add in pieces if
you need to and then I glued that bunch to the heart just like this I leveled
off the top to make it nice and even and continued filling in the heart as needed next shiny side up I covered the heart
with a piece of foil now just shape and mold until it starts
to look like a heart and repeat these steps for the other two after that I measured out three pieces
of wire I did three different sizes but if I did this project again I would make
them all the same length so we have an 8 inch piece a 7 inch one and 6 inches
using something sharp I created an opening at the top of each heart I edit glue and place the wire inside and right here I’m just moving around
the hearts to see which way looks better I think this is the point when I
realized that I should have created three equal eight inch pieces and I
didn’t want to do this part over again so I just decided to keep it next I’m
using this headband I found that Dollar Tree again and I’m glowing the pros
around the wire on the backside I place the pearls versus trying to put it in
that opening then I added a bead of glue at the top and place the pearls right
beside it I didn’t go down any other part except the top and bottom after
that I moved to the second and third one doing the same thing next I covered each
heart with bulk gems which is cheaper or you can use the Dollar Tree ones and you
can always find helpful tips like this and the materials listed in the
description box so using my wax tool I glued down the jims placing different
sizes next to each other and at this point I decided to make each
heart a little different so here’s the first one
a gems are clustered at the bottom right and for the middle one
I place gems all over fully covering the front side and on the last one the gems
are clustered at the top left then I move to the frame and marked where each
one will drop from the top I just eyeballed this part but if your
particular user ruler then with the tiny drill bit carve out the marked area if
you don’t have one you can always use something sharp but it will take you
longer so work your way in but don’t go all the way through just do a little bit
at a time so you don’t mess things up next flip it over and place a piece of
burlap on the back side you can use hot glue to adhere it but if you have a
stapler I would use that or even an industrial one whatever you decide to
use just even out the fabric and stick it to the frame all right so once everything is looking
good you can trim the excess and at the last minute I decided to add
tiny little twine bows to each heart with an inch hanging out I wrapped the
twine around my fingers three times cut the string leaving five inches or so I
dropped that middle finger wrapped it around one more time in down the middle
and then I pulled my fingers out wrap it down the middle again and now you have
your two ribbon tails and I glue them in place not the best ribbon tutorial I
know I really like the twine ribbon or bow that I did on Tuesday so I fluffed
it up a little bit on the sides and I glued each one to the hearts okay so
before gluing them in place I added each one to the opening for fitting and for
two of them I did have to drill a little bit deeper
I just went slow making sure not to go through the board once the openings were good I dropped
some glue inside and quickly place the wire in just the wire part not the
pearls then I finished it off with more glue after that I continued with the
next one add glue insert the wire make sure
everything looks good and then place more glue on top so with the last piece
I wasn’t satisfied with the limb so before gluing I chopped off the top
part and I shouldn’t I shouldn’t have done it
I feel like I say this not all my videos now so anyway it looks ridiculous long
story short I pulled the others out trim them a little bit so they look somewhat
cohesive if you want to add the hanging hardware
it do so but you should really do this at the beginning to avoid damaging your
you know beautiful hard work subscribe and as always I hope you were inspired
to create something for your beautiful home stay to the end for bloopers and I
look forward to seeing you again really soon like tomorrow here’s an arrangement
that I did on my floating shelf in my office
oh and really quick this is what it could look like with a wreath on top you
just have to figure out the backside maybe use an extended hook to hang the
wreath and here’s what it looks like hanging alone wanna see more subscribe
thumbs up this video share it with the friend and we’ll see you in the next one
bye guys thank you alright go pick up your toys muffin you’re in my girl
